Our Program
At WHMNS, we take great pride in our demonstrated ability to provide your child with security, warmth and a trusting environment during their first preschool experience.
Daily Routine
Children enjoy a variety of activities designed to develop their personal, social, physical, language, cognitive, creative, and expressive skills within a Christian Environment. Our daily routine includes large group time, small group time, music and movement, snack time, indoor and outdoor free play, and lunch.
Christian Component
As a Christian school, we offer the children an environment where faith is discussed and explored through play, prayer, and teachings. The children have opportunities to learn about the Christian faith through activities and discussions with the teachers and monthly visits with the Church’s Pastor.
Intergenerational Relationships
We build intergenerational relationships through monthly visits to the Chatfield Senior Living facility. We share a snack, have story time, do exercise class and various other activities with the residents. These visits have proven to be so rewarding for both the children of our school and the seniors at Chatfield. We also have senior volunteers that come in to read and help out in our classrooms about once a week. Our senior volunteers and the children really enjoy this special time.
Zumba
WHMNS provides Zumba classes twice a month as part of our program. Our Zumba instructor chooses music that is familiar to the children and creates dance moves and movement games to music that our children absolutely love.
Yoga
As an extension of our whole child approach, we are adding yoga instruction to our program this year. Yoga poses help children to exercise, develop confidence, improve concentration and balance, increase body awareness and improve gross and fine motor skills. Just like it does for adults, yoga helps children to relax, unwind, and calm themselves.
Wolcott Park
We are so fortunate to be within walking distance to our neighborhood park, Wolcott Park. Several times throughout the year, we walk over to enjoy the playground, investigate nature in our community, and have a picnic lunch. We get exercise, enjoy the fresh air, experience nature while playing , learning, and having fun with our friends
